Kaslo is located on the west shore of Kootenay Lake, 70 kms north of Nelson. The drive along the picturesque highway takes about one hour and takes you past the Balfour Ferry, Ainsworth Hot Springs, Woodbury, Mirror Lake and then into the Village of Kaslo.
Enjoy Kootenay Lake for year round fishing or summertime water sports. The mountains surrounding Kaslo have many trails for skiing and snowshoeing.
Kaslo is a year round community. You can always find something to fit your lifestyle whether it is appreciating the great outdoors or just sightseeing and enjoying the culture of the Kootenays.
Kaslo offers a variety of accomodations, motels, B&B's, cabins and a local hotel. If you are an RV'er, there are many campgrounds in the Kaslo area in which to choose from. Come for a day or stay for a week, but you must put Kaslo on your list of places to visit.
Front Street is the "Downtown of Kaslo" and welcomes you to stroll down and wander into each and every unique shop and business, you may be suprised at how much we have to offer.
Kaslo merchants have everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable.... Groceries, Bakeries, Restaurants, Gift Shops, Clothing Stores, Service Stations, Sport Stores, Hardware and Building Supplies Stores and many specialty shops.
There are no malls here, no box stores and no parking meters. Cornucopia is located at 422 Front Street overlooking beautiful Kootenay Lake. Front Street is one large crosswalk and is easy to zig zag your way up and down for all your shopping needs.
If you are boating on Kootenay Lake, dock at the public wharf and wander up to Front Street to replenish your supplies, shopping is only a few steps away!
If you are now wanting to get away from it all, just walk around the corner from Cornucopia onto Water Street and enjoy Kootenay Lake and the Mountains. Look at what we see every day from our back door.
